Sergeant Terry D. Alexander, Sr. was born August 25, 1952, to the late Webster Alexander, Jr. and the late Omeatter K. Alexander in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Terry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Bright Morning Star Baptist Church in Abbington, Louisiana.
Growing up in Shreveport, he attended school at Linear and graduated from Northwood High School. After graduating from high school, Terry enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for 4 years as an Aircraft Maintenance Chief. He received an Honorable Discharge after serving in the military.
Terry continued to further his education by attending Southern University-Shreveport where he received an associate degree in business administration.
In addition to serving in the military, Terry joined the Shreveport Police Department. He served the department for 20 plus years faithfully and retired as a Sergeant. After retiring from the department, he later worked at Willis-Knighton Hospital and Southern University as a security officer.
Terry had one son from a previous marriage, Terry Don Alexander, Jr. He was later united in Holy Matrimony to Alynia A. Alexander and to this union two sons were born: Timothy R. Alexander and Trenton S. Alexander.
Sgt. Alexander departed this life December 27, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Omeatter K. Taylor and father, Webster Alexander, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: 3 sons, Terry D. Alexander, Jr. of Chicago, IL, Timothy R. Alexander and Trenton S. Alexander both of Dallas, TX.; their mother, Alynia A. Alexander; 2 grandchildren, Terry
Alexander, III “Trey” and Essence Ann Marie Alexander; sisters, Arteria Lawson, Rose M. Hart, Willie Mae Bristo (Rusty K.), Beulah Taylor Gilmer (Leon), Gertha Taylor, Diane Taylor Williams (Pastor Patrick), and Francine Braden (Hardy); brothers, Michael Taylor and Joe Nathan Taylor (Chyree Jean); friend, Ivory “Soap” Bradford; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
