Trudy Lynn Welch was born on January 19, 1971, in Camden, Arkansas, and was raised in Chidester, Arkansas, where she built lifelong bonds and a strong sense of community. She passed away on January 17, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana, just two days before her 55th birthday.
Trudy was a devoted mother, sister, and friend whose heart was always open to others. She had a rare gift for being a shoulder to lean on and a steady source of strength for anyone in need. Her compassion, wisdom, and quiet resilience touched countless lives.
She retired from the Human Resources Department of the Caddo Parish Commission, where she served with professionalism and care. Outside of work, Trudy loved thrifting and finding beauty and value in unexpected places—much like she did with people. She saw the good in everyone.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Nydia Currie; her loving siblings, Willie Jean “Tiny" Welch, Jesse Welch, and Trecia “Kay” Monk; and many cherished nieces and nephews, each carrying a piece of her love forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Welch and Juanita Welch; and her sisters, Frankie Powell and Ozella “Bonnie” Goshen.
Trudy lived by the truth in these words:
“All leaning trees don’t fall, all closed eyes aren’t sleeping, and all goodbyes don’t mean I’m gone.”
Her spirit, love, and guidance will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
