Laura Denise Lee Wilson, daughter of Jessie Mae Washington Lee and M. L. Lee (both deceased), was born on December 1, 1953. She was raised in Benton, Louisiana with her two sisters and three brothers: Iona James (deceased), Rosie Mae Roberts, Joe Nathan Lee (deceased), Stafford Ray Lee (deceased), and Michael Lee. Reared in a Christian environment, Laura was baptized at an early age along with her siblings at Hopewell Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. Though born and raised in Benton, Louisiana and the surrounding areas, Laura travels included: Detroit, Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, and Rock Island Illinois. Upon her marriage to John T. Wilson in 1976 the couple went on to be blessed with four children together. While being a mother to her children Laura went on to also become a licensed CNA and pursued this profession for many years. She also served as a caretaker for Holy Angels Residential Facility and a Aid for the Louisiana Association for the Blind. Laura was a humble and caring soul who had an affinity for music and was a regular soloist for area churches. She also loved to watch Hallmark holiday movies year round because she loved the holidays and the togetherness of family they represented. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband: John T. Wilson Sr., her brother Michael L. Lee, her sister Rosie Mae Roberts, her four children: Carlos D. Wilson, John T. Wilson Jr(Dawn), Patrick G. Wilson, and Ysidra M. Lee, 2 grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
