Ms. Blanche Ellison

Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2020 at Zion Baptist John H. Wilson Chapel, 3038 Hollywood Ave.  Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery.  Open visitation will be Thursday at Heavenly Gates.

Sister Blanche Ellison was born April 30, 1932 in Shreveport, LA to the late R. C. and Sharlet Sanders Ellison.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savoir and was baptized at an early age at Mount Chapel Baptist Church. She was a faithful and active member until her health declined and she could no longer attend and serve. Sister Ellison served as a Sunday School, Mission, and Vacation Bible School Teacher, and Hospitality Ministry Member.

On March 21, 2020 God put his arms around her and whispered come to me.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Morris Sr., Lester (L.C.), Charlie (C.L.), and Boyd “Cecil”; sisters: Ella Bennett, Elizabeth Brooks, and Irene Ellison; sons: Ronald and John Ellison, and son-in-law, Willie E. Jackson.

Precious memories will be cherished by her daughters: Becky M. Jackson, Natalie Ellison-McKnight (Michael) of Shreveport, LA, and Meshell E. Hill of Gonzales, LA,; sister: Grace Ellison, and special niece: Joyce E. Glenn; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
