We're rejoiced to announce that Betty, a truly one-of-a-kind woman who lived a full 82 years exactly as she pleased, got her wings on May 13, 2025. She went out on her own terms, in the most “Betty” way to go as you could imagine.
Betty had a generous spirit, a quick wit and a remarkable ability to use colorful language like a seasoned artist. You always knew where you stood with her due to her inability to beat around the bush. Her advice was often laced with well-placed special wording but was surprisingly refreshing and always came from a place of genuine love.
Her generosity knew no bounds. Whether you needed a place to stay, a hand up, or just someone to listen to you (and perhaps offer some strong opinions), Betty was there. She gave freely and often, never expecting anything in return, finding joy in helping others. Her home was a place of warmth and acceptance, and everyone who walked through her door was treated like family.
Her sense of humor was legendary. She had a gift for telling it like it is, which often resulted in hilarious and memorable moments.
Betty was deeply loved by so many. Her authentic nature, her kindness, and positivity drew people to her. She built strong, lasting connections and leaves behind a community of friends and family who will miss her dearly, but who are also incredibly grateful for the time they had with such a remarkable woman.
She is survived by Brother: Gus Adams Jr. Children: Andrea Adams, Erin Adams, Danita Williams (Michael), Barbara Ousley, Debra McGlothurn, Billy Ousley Jr., granddaughter NaKinna Adams. 24 Grandchildren, numerous Great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by Mary Washington, Gus Adams Sr., George Washington, Virginia Brooks, Velma Moore, Billy Ousley, Elliot Ousley, Tommie Adams.
Betty lived a life full of joy, laughter and an extraordinary amount of love. She wouldn't want us to be too sad (she’d actually probably tell you to shut up with all of that crying), but instead remember her and smile, maybe tell a funny story, try to be a little more generous and a lot more caring.
