Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Zion Baptist John H. Wilson Chapel. Open visitation will be from 11 to 5 p.m. Friday at Heavenly Gates.
Darleen Lois Tillman Williams was born February 8, 1955 in New Orleans, LA to the late Louis E. Tillman, Sr. and Dolores Tillman. She was the eldest of the six children born of the Tillman union, but number four of Dolores’s nine. She graduated from Warren Easton Senior High School in New Orleans, class of 1972. Darleen was an Administrative Specialist in Safety and Administration at LSUMC for 25+ years.
In 1980, she became a member of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research in New Orleans. Unbeknownst to her, she and her family moved to Shreveport in 1985 where she continued her membership. Darleen enjoyed taking care of her husband and family, being of service in many capacities at IDMR, and specializing in retail therapy. After her retirement in 2015, she enjoyed traveling and making memories with her sisters, dancing with Shreveport Swing with Style, selling Mary Kay, and being “G” to her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Ronald Fred Williams, Sr. (2010), mother, Dolores Tillman (2020), father, Louis E. Tillman, Sr. (1992), granddaughter, Reniyah Zanae Williams (2010), and sister-in-law, Karen Williams (2019).
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Niquina (O.L.), Eddie, III, Sarah, Reuben (Miranda), Todriaun, Ronald, Jr. (Kattie), Randy, Sr. (Shawn), Ryan, Sr. (Janine), and Rondalyn, sisters, JoAnn, Veronica (Theodore), Wilda, Debra, Meredith, and Aldrina, brothers, Rene’ and Louis, Jr., in-laws, Freddie, Sr. (Marlene), JoAnn, Genia (Willie), and Darolyn, grandchildren, Jaela, William, Emorii, Micah, Andre, Noah, Ryeland, Reuel, Ozariea, Kimberly, Christina, Ryan, Jr., Shaday, Randy, Jr., great grandchildren, Kristian, Jr., Kyriaun, and Olivia, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a few close friends.
