Services will be  11 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Paradise B.C.  Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery.  Open visitation will be from 11 to 6 p.m., Friday at Paradise B.C.

Deacon Willie Adams, “Bill” as he was affectionately known, was born August 20, 1932 to the late Henry Adams, Sr. and the late Addie B. Adams in Keithville, Louisiana.

 

Bill accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mount Bethel No. 1 Baptist Church in Keithville, Louisiana. He later united with Paradise Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Ludd Flanagan. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1964 where he remained serving faithfully.

 

Deacon Adams enjoyed helping people in the church, in the community, visiting and delivering food to the sick and elderly. He also served in the Civic Affairs Ministry as well as other committees.

 

On August 31, 1952, Bill was united in Holy Matrimony to Ona B. Bennett, and to this union four children were born: Jerry Adams, Carolyn Sue Adams, Jimmy Ray Adams, and Alynia Kay Adams Alexander.

 

Willie was a technician for C.F. Biggs for over forty years. The company sent him to various states for training. He provided professional service on typewriters; overhead projectors and copy machines for schools across the Ark-La-Tex.

 

Brother Adams was a lifelong member of the Masons. He was a part of The Most Worshipful Universal Grand Lodge of LA. AF & AM. He was a Thirty-Third (33) Degree which is the highest degree in Masonry. In addition, he served as Worthy Grand Patron of the Order of Eastern Star (OES) achieving Twenty-Six (26) Degree.

 

Willie Adams departed this world Monday, January 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Addie B. Adams; wife, Ona B. Adams; daughter, Carolyn Adams Brown; two sisters, Ruby Jefferson and Minnie Adams Turner; three brothers, Edward Adams, Gardner Adams, and Henry Adams, Jr.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories:; his children, Jerry (Diane) Adams, Jimmy R. (Tanya) Adams, Alynia K. Adams Alexander; son-in-law, Lamar Brown; grandchildren, Timothy & Trenton Alexander, Terry Adams Mindo, Jerry Adams, Jr., Tiffany Adams Lauderdale, Amber P. Green, Antonio Brown; three sisters, Elizabeth Bowman, Dorothy A. (Angus) Lindsey, Annie Pearl (Gene) Goines; three brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Adams, Jimmie Ray Adams, and Wesley (Doris) Adams;.

 

He also leaves his sister & brother in laws, Reverend John & Addie Mitchell, Clarence & Diane Bennett, Rufus C. Bennett, James Bennett, Sr, Billy & Sandra Bennett, Bobby & Robin Bennett; 12 great-grandchildren; two Goddaughters, Sereca R. Henderson and Nikeya Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
