After several years of ongoing health challenges, Mr. Isacc Manuel, Jr., affectionately

known as “Ike,” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age

of eighty-eight. Ike was born on October 23, 1936, in Natchitoches, LA, to Isaac Manuel,

Sr. and Florence (Dixon) Manuel. Isaac had two sisters, Gloria Johnson and Sylvia

Thompson. A dedicated scholar, he pursued higher education at Southern University in

Baton Rouge, LA where he earned a Masters +30 in Education, igniting his passion for

learning and leadership.

Ike devoted his career to shaping young minds and building communities through

education. He served as Principal at Queensborough Elementary and Lakeshore Middle

School, leading with integrity and purpose during his tenure with the Caddo Public

School System until his well-earned retirement. A faithful man of God, Ike was a

member of Galilee Baptist Church for over 56 years where he served as a Trustee and

formed lifelong bonds. A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., he was

committed to uplifting and advocating for the community.

For over 50 years, Ike made his home in the Lakeside Acres subdivision of

Queensborough, where he shared love, wisdom, and laughter with family, friends, and

neighbors. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nettie Smith Manuel;

his daughter, Kendra Rochelle Manuel; and his sisters.

Ike leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. He is survived by his devoted wife

of 21 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Manuel; his children, Nomie Yvonne Wallace; Marc Eric

Pace; and Aprill Pace Williams (Gregory); and a host of grandchildren, great

grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Known for his patience, kind

words, sense of humor and unwavering love, Ike was a light in the lives of all who knew

him. His legacy will continue to inspire and unite us for generations to come.
