Ms. Annie Mae Jones

Annie Mae “Tetee” Jones, 83, died November 13, 2018 at 2:35 am, with her family by her side in the Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.

A Family Hour will be held on Friday evening, November 16, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the New Hope Baptist Church, 222 Cotton Belt Road, Mansfield, LA., and Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Saturday morning, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 am. Services Entrusted to: Heavenly Gates Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. She was born July 26, 1935, in Mansfield, LA to Elisha “Boa” Jones, Sr. and Rosie B. Jones. She was a second mother to her siblings...teaching them to be respectful of other, to love one another, and to read and to write. She graduated from the Desoto Parish Training School (pre-Desoto High School) of Mansfield, LA in May of 1953. Her interests included family, fishing and camping, gardening, sewing and reading. During the 1990’s she own and operated Annie Mae’s Café on Hwy 171 South in Mansfield, LA with her beloved Sacky Joy Houston. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away at age 79.
Annie Mae is survived by her sisters, Elsie Ruth Moore, Patricia Ann Rachal, Betty Lou Farmer and Doris Jean Carter and brother, Elisha Jones, Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha “Boa” Jones, Sr. and Rosie B. Jones; one sister, Annie Lee Perry and one brother, Robert Earl Jones.
