Sister Vera Faye Stephens, daughter of the late Annie L. Green, was born January 18th, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana. On the morning of August 31st, 2018 at home, God called her to her heavenly home to rest from her labor here to a sweet resting place.
Sister Stephens confessed Christ at an early age at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. She devoted 38 years of her life at CHRISTUS Health as a nursing assistant then unit clerk until 2017.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Annie L. Green, sister Linda G. Green, brother Lonnie “Ray” Green, and uncle Charles J. Smith. Also preceding her in death was an aunt she considered her second mother, Jessie M. McCoy, an uncle also like a father, T.J. McCoy, and a cousin reared as a sibling, Juanita Hall. Sister-in-law Debbie K. Williams, and brother-in-law Keith L. Stephens.
Loving memories will be cherished by her son Dr. Shomichael Stephens (Brandi) Shreveport, Louisiana; daughter Comonica Stephens Dallas, Texas; Aunt Rose Ransom Dallas, Texas; Uncle Otis Smith (Gladys) Houston, Texas; cousins reared as siblings George Gipson (Mamie), Norma Carter, Lorraine McCoy (Bonita), Melvin McCoy all of Ivan, Louisiana, Brenda Snelling (Gene) Columbus, Ohio, Bennie McCoy (Jackie) Dallas, Texas; Sisters-in-law Faith Thomas (d. George) Dallas, Texas and Jean Thompson Bossier City, Louisiana; brothers-in-law Jerome Stephens (Paula) Windsor Mill, Maryland and Ricky Stephens; three grandchildren whom she adored Tiarra, Bradon, and Brooklyn Stephens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
