Service will be 11 am., Friday, November 1, 2019 at Union Chapel MBC, Waskom, Texas. Interment will follow at Northwest La. Veteran Cemetery.

Val Adams Devers was born March 4, 1944 in Marshall Texas to Willia Faye Adams and the late Carzie Adams, Sr.
A Time To Plant
Val dedicated herself to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Galilee Baptist Church of Marshall, Texas where Rev. Willie James Calvin was pastor. In 1973, she relocated to Dallas, Texas where she joined Golden Gate Baptist Church. After moving to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1978, she united with the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Waskom, Texas. She served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Senior Choir, church clerk, Vacation Bible school teacher and participated in prayer and teacher’s meetings. She remained a faithful and active member until her death.
A Time For Marriage
On July 29, 1967, Val Adams and Oscar J. Devers were united in holy matrimony in Marshall, Texas. This union was shared for 52 years.
A Time To Be Fruitful And Multiply
To this union, three beautiful daughters were born: Felica, Tefnie and Tamara. Three amazing grandchildren were a blessed addition to the family: Christian James (CJ), Valentina Marie and Zoey Christina.
A Time To Work
Val worked for C.H. Irion Elementary School in Benton, Louisiana; Southern University in Shreveport, Louisiana; General Electric in Dallas, Texas and retired from KWKH Radio in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2000.
A Time For Peace
On October 21, 2019, God gently plucked this choice soldier from the path of life and led Val to heaven. She is now at peace in the redemptive love of Christ with her mother, Willia Faye Adams and brothers, Kenneth Adams and Rickey Adams. Let your memories of her always be full of love and happiness.
Survivors To Cherish Her Memory
Val is survived by her loving husband, Oscar Devers; three daughters: Felica, Tefnie (Jeffrey), Tamara; three grandchildren: Christian, Valentina, Zoey; siblings: Carzie Adams, Jr (Mary), Ronnetta Randall (Frank) and Linda Jackson along with special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives.
