Mrs. Katie Wright

Katie Gloria (DuBoise) Wright was born to the late Mr. Lincoln Tom DuBoise and Mrs. Beulah I DuBoise.  

Katie Gloria Wright confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age.  While Katie resided  in Shreveport she  actively served as a  member of St.James United Methodist Church .  

She passed Friday August 9,2019, in High Point, North Carolina. 

Katie married the late George Wright Jr., who preceded her in death.  To this union 5 children were born.

She completed Booker T. Washington High School in 1950 then graduated from Grambling State University in 1954.     Katie worked as a teacher at Ingersoll Elementary School then as a  Librarian at Arthur Circle.   Retiring from  Caddo Parish Schools after more than  31 years of service.   She was an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority while in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her family. 5 Children: sons,Wayne A.Wright (Terrie), Wendell A. Wright, daughters,Patrice M.Wright, Pamela M.Wright,  Paula M.Ward (Larry D.). 

7 grandchildren, Brian G.Wright (Siobhan),Tiffany F.Wright, Brittany K.O.Wright, Haley A.Wright, Peter G.Wright, Lar'riza M.Ward,Lincoln L.W.Ward; 5 great grandchildren, Taeus, Tanae, Darius, Bailey and Anjae Wright  and a host of relatives and friends. Deceased: 2 brothers Thomas James DuBoise,Compton, California; Clyde A.DuBoise,Portland,Oregon; 4 sisters Gladys M. DuBoise,Mildred Nash both of Houston,Texas; Doris Marie DuBoise, Sacramento,California; Deloris Johnson,Vancouver Washington.  

  Services will be held at Galilee Baptist Church, Saturday August 24,2019 Family Visitation 10:00 am Funeral 11:00 am.  Interment Lincoln Memorial Park 6915 W 70th Street Shreveport, LA 71129. Condolences can be sent to Paula (Wright) Ward P O Box 10542 Greensboro, NC. 27404
