Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Amos Smith was born on January 18, 1941 and transitioned from earth to be with her Heavenly Father on the morning of January 29, 2019.
A celebration of her life and legacy will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. The family hour will be on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. The Reverend Dr. Harry Blake will be officiating. The Interment will follow at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carolyn graduated from Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana Class of 1958. She graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1962 with a BS in Mathematics Education. She received her Masters Plus 30 in Counseling from California State University, Hayward, California.
Carolyn was an Educator for over 48 years and a retiree of Caddo Parish Schools. She was a faithful member and Sunday School Teacher of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. She was a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her legacy, her loving husband of fifty-six years, Robert Curtis Smith, three daughters, Adriene S. Phillips, Erika S. Evans (Darryl), and Allyson L. White (Thornton, Jr.), seven grandchildren, a brother, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and many close friends.
