Celebration of life service honoring Mrs. Carolyn S. Redding, 61, will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary of Union Mission #1 Baptist Church, Buncombe Road with Pastor Edwin Scott officiating.
Mrs. Redding will rest in the gardens of Lincoln Memorial Park. Open visitation will be Friday at Heavenly Gates.
Carolyn “Mama Sue” Redding was born in Bossier City, LA to the union of Carrie Mae Harris and Joe Marshall. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Stonewall Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Alex Scott.
On May 31, 2018 God walked to his garden and picked a beautiful rose.
Mama Sue loved her family, her church, and she was a true child of the King.
She was a nurturing and true caregiver in every sense of the word. She has
taken care of countless children throughout the years and raised a flock of
sheep who will always remember her as their mother when they had no
place else to go.
She was preceded in death by her mother Carrie Mae Harris, her father
Joe Marshall, and sister Helen Rawls.
She leaves to cherish her memories
her husband Johnny Redding of Shreveport, LA; her three sons Alvin
Bryant (Cheri) of Shreveport, LA; Franco & Tracee Bryant of Shreveport,
LA and Adrian Bryant of Dallas, TX. Grandchildren Taylor, Luke, Quincy,
Ciara, Braelyn, Maddyn, Alexes, Asha, & Tia. 1 brother Clarence Knowles
(Lee Autry), 2 sisters Willie Mae “Winkie ” Otis of Shreveport, LA, Mary
Wright (Willie B) of Los Angeles, CA. A special uncle Leroy Oliver of
Bossier City, LA., surrogate children Dedric Gladney and Tiffany Williams,
A host of uncles, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and special
friends.
She was ours for a moment, but she’s God’s forever.
