A life of service is a life well and greatly lived”
Cleophus Charles “CC” Samuels was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Dorothy Samuels Pierce on January 27, 1946. He attended Caddo Parish public schools and graduated from high school. Upon completion of his formal training, Charles later moved to Los Angeles, California
Charles was employed by the City of Los Angeles Metro Department of Transportation and, after many years of service, he retired.
Charles confessed the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. He continued to allow his Lord and Savior to guide him along this Christian journey and ended his service to Him at the Morning Star Baptist Church.
Anyone who knew Charles, knew he was a music lover and loved singing. Because of his love for music, he became a local gospel DJ for KOKA Radio Station where he served his community with good gospel music each Sunday afternoon. Charles was blessed with a voice, not only for speaking, but also for singing. He loved to sing and render his voice as a soloist and a member of his church male chorus.
“CC” as he was affectionately called loved fashion, and he was impeccably dressed and well color coordinated whenever you saw him.
Charles loved the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, and he and his mother would watch the games whenever they played, and you would think the two of them were an entire cheering squad.
Charles’ Christian journey came to an end on Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother Roy.
His love for life will be cherished by his beloved Denise Robertson Samuels, sons Patrick Samuels and wife Tomika and Roshawn Samuels. His only daughter Amanda Nicole Samuels died on Sunday, September 29, 2019. He will also be remembered by grandchildren, Jaylen Andrew and Jared Patrick Samuels and Lyric Marie Samuels and his sister-in-love, Sandra Bradford Pierce.
Charles’ life and legacy will continue through the lives of his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
