Rev. Phillip John Meaux, Sr.

SHREVEPORT, LA

Reverend Phillip John Meaux, Sr., 74, a retired veteran and long time resident of Shreveport, transitioned on January 17, 2018, following a brief illness.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Galilee Baptist Church, 1500 Pierre Avenue. Pastor Brian Wilson, officiating. 

Interment will follow in Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, at Galilee Baptist Church.

Reverend Phillip Meaux leaves to cherish his memory: his wife: Earnestine Shivers Meaux; two sons Phillip John Meaux, Jr. (Shelia), and Roderick Deshun Meaux (Gretchen); two daughters Christine (Joe) Jackson, and Lakyesha Daniella Meaux; siblings: Hollins Marcel Meaux (Clarrissia), Harold Meaux (Pam), and Octavia Marie Broussard; grandchildren: Paige Kilchrist (Johnny), Paiton Hagans (Cordian), Waverly Kilchrist, Paul J. Kilchrist III, Jazmyne Jackson, Justin Jackson, Gabrielle Meaux, and Phillip Joseph Meaux, great-grandchildren: Teagan Deniz, Connor Hagans, MiaBella Hagans; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

Preceeding Rev. Meaux in death are his parents: Thelma Cobb Meaux and Rev. Hollins Meaux; and brother: Joseph Meaux.

Honoring Reverend Meaux as pallbearers shall be: Roderick Meaux, Phillip John Meaux, Jr., Rodney Martin,  Roger Buffin, Roger Buffin, Jr., Jimmy Barnes, Heath Maxille, and Jarvis Dixon.

The family of Rev. Phillip John Meaux, Sr. would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for every act of kindness toward us.  Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, & Staff of the Overton Brooks Veterans Administration Medical Center, Home Health Care Staff, Pastor Brian Wilson and the Galilee Baptist Church, and Heavenly Gates Funeral Home & Staff.
